My Valentine.

"I feel so blessed to have found love, it is beautiful in every way. Today is a beautiful day. :)" That was FB status yesterday, as yesterday couldn't have been more perfect. I wish yesterday could have last forever. Sounds cliche, I know; but Valentine's day is my absolute favorite, favorite day. Not just because I have an amazing boyfriend, but because it's full of love, my favorite word. People are all smiles, families are together, the guy driving the flower truck waves at you just because, (hopefully I'm not being naive, thinking he was just honestly waving at me out of pure kindness, and not checking me out), but I took it in, and waved back happily, at the thought he was just being nice. The first three numbers on the miles in my car read 214, yes, I know lots of miles, but it made me happy. There was lots of love signs yesterday, I loved it. :)

To top it off I had the cute, romantic night, with the boyfriend. A big teddy bear, chocolate covered strawberries, candles, I love yous, and the little BLUE box. Yes, that amazing little blue box, with the white bow, with the perfect heart necklace. AH. I loved it. And most of all I love him. Almost three amazing years together, still going strong! We're young and in love, and that feeling is the best feeling in the world. Our night was perfect, with our fast food, hamburger dinner, it couldn't have been more "us", it was perfect in every way.

Okay, I know enough of the mushy, gushy stuff, so I have some more exciting news: I ordered my Canon 5D Mark II today!!! I cannot wait for it to come in on Wednesday! SO exciting, and new branding that is definitely more me. :) With that said, with the occasion I thought I'd show you guys my little blue box and a sneak peek of the latest couple's sessions I did specifically for Valentine's day:
Kylee & Andrew:
Andria & Tanner:

Stay tuned for weddings coming up soon! And some more sessions I'm desperately behind on! They're all coming soon, promise. :) Hope all of you had a great Valentine's day!

Aperture & a New Love For Old Cameras.

Aperture. A word I've come to love. I simply love aperture. First off, my homework for my Digital Photography class inspired this post completely. As you all might have guessed... it is my favorite class. The class I actually hate leaving. Yeah, well you should suspect a photographer might like a photography class. Completely blew my mind, who knew!? So anyways back to this word aperture, our assignment was to shoot at different apertures. With that said, I did just that realizing aperture was an amazing thing. Although I've always known aperture was an amazing, but it really hit me this time, aperture is the thing I concentrate most on when I'm shooting. As I love the way my 50mm f/1.4 lens expresses aperture at it's finest. I love the images it produces, AH.

As I defined to the class this is exactly why I bought this lens because it can have an aperture as wide as 1.4 with a very short or small depth of field which creates such meshed together backgrounds, AKA bokeh, although I can't wait until the day I have the 50mm f/1.2. :) So anyways I just thought I'd let you all know how much I love aperture, and shooting with my 50mm f/1.4, and if you are considering buying, I would highly recommend it. Everyone in my photography class is fascinated by it, and asking me tons of questions. It's a great lens. :)

Here's my assignment, as I compared the apertures while shooting an old camera I stumbled upon, which was my grandfather's. As I've started to have this new love for old cameras and can't wait to collect more. I'm in LOVE with old vintage things now. :) The image on top is shot with a f/1.4 aperture, which is definitely my style of shooting, as the image on the bottom is shot with a f/9 or f/16. Enjoy :)

Second Comparison:

I love this. As I wanted to show I definitely love shooting with larger apertures. AS yes, this may be confusing, larger apertures are smaller numbers, that produce a smaller depth of field. Photography world is crazy, but you gotta love it.

And I'll end with this one, that I showed to the class to show them more of my style. I love Bokeh :)

Now off to write a bio on my favorite photographers!
AH, so many to choose from. Stay tuned for my weddings coming soon to the blog!
